Reconditioning Associate
About The Position
As a Reconditioning Associate, you help ensure every vehicle meets CarMax’s quality and presentation standards. The role offers hands-on experience in the automotive industry and an opportunity to learn from a team while supporting customer experiences. Associates log and track vehicle deliveries and inventory, move and stage vehicles, keep the work area clean, and perform vehicle cleaning, vacuuming, and detailing. The position also involves learning and applying best practices in automotive care and inventory management, collaborating with teammates, and following Environmental, Health and Safety requirements. Work may take place outdoors in varying weather, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends is needed.
Requirements

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities
- Log and track vehicle deliveries and inventory to maintain accurate records.
- Move and stage vehicles across the lot for optimal customer viewing.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming environment and an orderly work area.
- Clean, vacuum, and detail vehicles to meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
- Learn and apply best practices in automotive care and inventory management.
- Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements.
Benefits
- Paid sick time: eligible associates can accrue up to 48 hours per year.
- Paid vacation time: eligible associates receive between 80 and 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
- Six paid scheduled holidays per year and one floating holiday for eligible associates.
- Holiday Premium Pay when an eligible associate works on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
- Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
