About The Position

As a Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II at CarMax, you perform cosmetic inspections, final quality checks, and advanced reconditioning tasks to help ensure vehicles meet CarMax’s standards for quality and appearance and are ready for customers. The role involves using established processes and maintaining an efficient pace while identifying defects and selecting appropriate repair methods. You also support auction preparation and vehicle movement, provide customer service, work with teammates, follow Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, and keep the work area clean and orderly. The job requires working indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather.

Requirements

• Complete all CarMax training programs, including online and hands-on modules.
• Read, interpret, and accurately record data for inventory and quality control.
• Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Work in indoor and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Execute standardized cosmetic reconditioning processes at an established pace while maintaining efficiency and quality.
• Perform advanced cosmetic repairs, including paint touch-up, wet sanding, and buffing.
• Complete cosmetic and final quality inspections to ensure vehicles meet customer-ready standards.
• Identify defects and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Support auction preparation and assist with moving vehicles on and off the lot.
• Deliver customer service and collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
