About The Position

Resthaven is a not-for-profit, faith-based organization serving older adults since 1945. The Receptionist supports residents, families, visitors, and employees through professional communication and front-desk assistance. This is an on-call, as-needed position; hours vary based on staffing needs and are not guaranteed. Available shifts are 6:00 AM–2:00 PM and 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Professional phone skills and appearance.
• Effective decision-making skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with Word, Excel, email, and Video Messenger.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and interruptions.
• Ability to coordinate emergency and evacuation situations when necessary.
• Ability to communicate tactfully and maintain professional working relationships.
• Organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete multiple tasks while managing interruptions.
• Use professional phone skills and maintain a professional appearance.
• Make effective decisions.
• Coordinate emergency and evacuation situations when necessary.
• Speak clearly and distinctly when making announcements.
• Communicate effectively and tactfully, recognizing differences in age, cultural orientation, needs, abilities, and physical condition.

• Establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with residents, families, visitors, and employees.
• Stay organized and attentive to detail.
• Operate standard office equipment, including fax machines, calculators, telephones, copiers, and audiovisual equipment.
• Use computers and common software and communication tools, including Word, Excel, email, and Video Messenger.
