About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is hiring a full-time Receiver at a private school in Norfolk, Virginia. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with pay of $18–$19 per hour. The role receives and stores deliveries, supports kitchen and dining operations, and maintains clean, organized storage areas while following sanitation and safety requirements. The work environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and high-energy. The position may involve working in excessive heat or cold in the kitchen and possible exposure to fumes and mildly abrasive chemicals. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Ability to measure products and convert units of measure.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Cooperation, customer service, attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork, safety awareness, organization, problem solving, adaptability and flexibility, resilience, dependability, and trustworthiness.
Ability to read and interpret instructions.
Ability to handle prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, overhead lifting, and repetitive motion.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 200 pounds.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Receive deliveries and assist with loading, unloading, and delivering supplies and stock.
Store incoming stock in assigned locations, ensuring proper storage of perishables and rotation of stock.
Clean and organize all back-of-house and front-of-house storage areas.
Break down boxes and remove them from the kitchen and dining room area.
Assist with dishwashing duties, including operating, cleaning, setting up, and breaking down the dishwashing machine; washing and stocking dishes; removing trash; and cleaning floors.
Comply with outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
