About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is hiring a full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. The position pays $16 per hour and requires availability Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The work environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and high-energy, with opportunities for career growth and advancement. The Utility Steward/Dishwasher maintains sanitation in the kitchen, cafeteria, dining room, and other assigned areas; washes dishes and cookware using an industrial dishwasher or by hand; and performs general cleaning and utility-area upkeep. The role also follows chemical-use and food-safety procedures, handles deliveries and stock, and assists the prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed. Nice To Haves

Prior dishwashing experience; 1–3 years is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain sanitation in the kitchen, cafeteria, dining room, and other areas assigned by management.
Clean plates, trays, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using an industrial dishwasher or by hand.
Use workplace chemicals properly and safely.
Perform general cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, washing, and emptying trash bins and boxes into the correct containers.
Maintain an appropriate cleaning schedule for utility areas and equipment.
Follow food-safety protocols.
Receive stock and deliveries and put them away in designated storage areas.
Assist the prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times.
