About The Position

A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing lenders, borrowers, developers, private equity sponsors, and institutional investors in sophisticated commercial real estate finance transactions.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of commercial real estate finance or finance transactional experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience representing lenders, borrowers, developers, private equity sponsors, institutional investors, and financial institutions
  • Experience handling commercial mortgage loans, acquisition financings, construction loans, mezzanine financings, bridge loans, syndicated loans, and other secured lending transactions
  • Experience drafting and negotiating loan agreements, mortgage documents, security agreements, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documentation
  • Experience reviewing title, survey, zoning, organizational documents, and real estate due diligence materials
  • Experience advising clients regarding real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and financing structures
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Responsibilities

  • Representing lenders, borrowers, developers, private equity sponsors, and institutional investors in sophisticated commercial real estate finance transactions.
  • Handling commercial mortgage loans, acquisition financings, construction loans, mezzanine financings, bridge loans, syndicated loans, and other secured lending transactions.
  • Drafting and negotiating loan agreements, mortgage documents, security agreements, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documentation.
  • Reviewing title, survey, zoning, organizational documents, and real estate due diligence materials.
  • Advising clients regarding real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and financing structures.
  • Independently managing sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction.
