About The Position

The RCM Billing & Collections Specialist creates claims invoices for third-party insurance carriers for commercial products and monitors aging to support proper and timely payment. The role corrects claim data in Acuity Logic, submits paper and electronic claims and manual vouchers or invoices, follows up on denials, and develops expertise in assigned plans. The specialist also supports retail units and department leaders with billing questions and projects, reports personal KPI data, communicates system and billing issues, and recommends improvements to efficiency, quality, cost savings, and profitability.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• One year of accounts receivable experience with third-party billing.
• Knowledge of insurance billing processes.
• Entry-level PC skills in MS Windows, Word, and Excel.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with coworkers and prepare concise, accurate reports.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment and prioritize the good of the team over individual interests.

Responsibilities

• Correct claim data in the Acuity Logic system before billing for specified plans.
• Submit paper and electronic claims in Acuity Logic to third-party carriers for specified plans in a timely manner.
• Submit manual vouchers and invoices to plans that do not accept claim forms in a timely manner.
• Maintain personal KPI data and report it to the Manager weekly.
• Interpret and follow up on claim denials from third-party carriers for specified plans.
• Monitor aging for specified plans to support prompt and accurate payment.
• Develop expertise in assigned plans and serve as a department and company resource for billing questions about those plans.
• Assist the AR Manager and Commercial Claim Supervisor with special projects as needed.
• Communicate system, site, and billing company issues to the AR Manager promptly to support management oversight and resource planning.
• Serve as a resource for retail units with billing questions.
• Recommend efficiency, process, quality, cost-saving, and profitability improvements within the department or organization.
