About The Position

Werner Enterprises offers an 11-week summer internship designed to connect classroom learning with real-world experience. The paid internship includes dedicated job training and learning opportunities in a collaborative, inclusive environment. It is based at the company’s Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, with some remote and off-site opportunities potentially available. Paid housing or housing assistance may be available.

The intern will manage customer rate structures, maintain their accuracy across transportation management and billing platforms, and update them in response to market changes or company strategy. The role also provides back-office support, pricing audits, bid administration, and analytical support to leadership. The internship includes development activities such as leader sessions, mentoring, intern activities, community support events, networking, and a summer project proposal and presentation.

Requirements

• Currently attending an accredited college or university at the junior level and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain customer rate structures, ensuring accuracy across TMS and billing platforms and updating them based on market changes or company strategy.
• Handle back-office support functions, including data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks.
• Audit pricing and rate structures to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Set up and manage customer bid opportunities in Salesforce and other bidding applications.
• Prepare reports on pricing effectiveness and profitability to support leadership.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to resolve pricing issues and support new business initiatives.
