About The Position

Quantem Aviation Services is hiring a Ramp Agent at South Bend Airport to work as part of a team delivering safe and efficient aircraft services and providing a high level of customer service. The role helps keep passengers and aircraft moving safely and on time. The position pays $21.00 per hour and follows an AM schedule: Tuesday through Friday starting at 4:30 a.m. and Saturday starting at 5:45 a.m., on a rotating schedule. Quantem Aviation Services provides aircraft handling services, including cargo warehousing, mail handling, ramp handling, terminal services, and GSE fuel supply and maintenance. Safety is a priority, and every employee has the authority and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions exist.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must pass a background check and meet drug-free workplace requirements to obtain an airport badge and employment.
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English.
Must be able to verbally direct in English.
A Real ID or valid passport is required.
Must be able to handle interactions tactfully with employees at all levels and client representatives.

Responsibilities

Safely load and unload freight, including building up and breaking down cargo pallets and freight containers according to guidelines.
Hold required equipment certifications and operate equipment safely.
Obtain proper security documents for all shipments.
Verify shipment pieces, weight, dimensions, and airworthiness upon receipt from the customer.
Verify shipment pieces and airway bill numbers upon delivery to the customer.
Treat all information as confidential.
Verbally direct in English.
