About The Position

Quantem Aviation Services is hiring a Ramp Agent at South Bend Airport. Working as part of a team, the Ramp Agent delivers safe and efficient aircraft services and a high level of customer service to help keep passengers and aircraft moving safely and on time. The role includes safely handling freight and cargo and verifying shipment information during receipt and delivery. The schedule is an AM shift: Tuesday through Friday, starting at 4:30 a.m., and Saturday, starting at 5:45 a.m., on a rotating schedule. Pay is $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Must pass a background check and meet drug-free workplace requirements to obtain an airport badge and employment.
Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Must have a Real ID or valid passport.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English.
Must be able to verbally direct in English.
Must be able to deal tactfully with employees at all levels and client representatives.
Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to speak and hear efficiently.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds at times.
Must be able to climb ladders up to 15 feet high.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, and pull for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

Safely load and unload freight, including building up and breaking down cargo pallets and freight containers according to guidelines.
Maintain equipment certifications and operate equipment safely.
Obtain proper security documents for all shipments.
Verify shipment pieces, weight, dimensions, and airworthiness when receiving shipments from customers.
Verify shipment pieces and airway bill numbers when delivering shipments to customers.
Maintain the confidentiality of all information.
