About The Position

The Radiology Tech performs imaging procedures according to physicians’ instructions, including determining which area of the patient’s body needs imaging. The role involves explaining procedures to patients, answering questions, positioning patients and adjusting imaging equipment, and following radiation-safety practices. The position also maintains patient records, radiology supplies, and a safe, clean working environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow physicians’ instructions regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions to help lower their anxiety.
• Position patients correctly and adjust imaging equipment to the specified position.
• Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure to themselves and patients.
• Follow proper techniques and procedures, including patient shielding.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and placing orders.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
