The Radiology Scheduling Coordinator manages communications and coordinates scheduling and service needs for the Radiology department. The role facilitates communication between radiologists and referring physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technologists, and other clinical personnel, including physician-to-physician discussions when requested. The coordinator supports timely notification, documentation, follow-up, and escalation of critical and significant imaging results in accordance with departmental and institutional policies, but does not provide independent clinical interpretation. The coordinator works with radiologists, scheduling staff, nursing, procedural areas, referring offices, other hospital departments, Concierge Services, Foundation personnel, patients, and authorized representatives to coordinate procedures, urgent and add-on requests, special procedures, time-sensitive imaging needs, scheduling accommodations, and other Radiology-related requests. The role tracks outstanding requests, ensures appropriate follow-up and escalation, documents communications in approved systems, protects confidential patient information, and escalates recurring communication failures, workflow delays, access barriers, or service issues to Radiology leadership. The position also participates in orientation, workflow training, emergency preparedness, performance improvement, and service-recovery activities as assigned.
