About The Position

This is a 14-week travel assignment for a Radiation Therapist (Radiation Therapy Tech) in Glendale, California. The role is hospital-based and involves administering prescribed ionizing radiation, explaining procedures, preparing treatment rooms and equipment, monitoring patients, maintaining records, and providing clinical supervision. The assignment guarantees 36 hours per week with a shift of 5x8 days (8:00 AM–4:30 PM).

Requirements

ARRT in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT) – Required
Bachelor’s Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in radiologic therapy
Ability to work in a hospital setting as part of a travel assignment

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree preferred
Current BLS or CPR preferred (CPR/BLS/HS-BLS/RQIBLS)
Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice preferred

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed ionizing radiation according to physician prescriptions and patient identification
Explain procedures and maintain patient communication during treatment, ensuring comfort and safety
Deliver the prescribed daily dose while observing radiation safety practices for patient and staff
Prepare treatment room and equipment, assist with immobilization devices, and transfer the patient to the treatment couch
Monitor patients for unusual reactions or complications during treatment and report findings to the supervisor and department physician
Maintain accurate treatment records and patient charts, ensuring proper documentation of blood counts and related reports
Provide clinical supervision and evaluate students’ practical abilities as assigned
