About The Position

Radiation Therapist (Radiation Therapy Tech) needed for a travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. This hospital-based oncology service line serves the island and requires proficiency with a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and ARIA EMR. The role involves performing radiation therapy treatments, simulations, and treatment planning, fabricating specialized treatment aides, and treating approximately 25–30 patients per day across multiple treatment sites. The position requires the use of treatment modalities including 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons. Communication with the cancer care team and accurate documentation of patient status and treatment information are essential.

Requirements

Current Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license as a Radiation Therapist
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy (T)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Hawaii license by start of assignment
Active license required prior to start; onboarding includes an employee health screening
2 years of progressively responsible imaging technologist/specialist experience
Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam and ARIA EMR
Ability to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays

Epic EMR experience preferred (as of 11/1/2025)

Responsibilities

Independently perform radiation therapy treatments, simulations, and treatment planning in accordance with physician prescriptions
Fabricate specialized treatment aides and support devices as needed
Treat approximately 25–30 patients per day across multiple treatment sites
Use treatment modalities including 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons
Proficiently operate a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and the ARIA EMR system
Communicate with the cancer care team and document patient status and treatment information accurately
