About The Position

The Staff RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The nurse coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units, ensuring that quality care is provided efficiently and safely in accordance with the unit’s standard of care. The nurse uses clinical skills to determine patients’ and their families’ or significant others’ biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and educational needs, and to develop, implement, and revise the plan of care.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within three months of hire or transfer.
• National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification A required within three months of hire or transfer.
• Eight hours of stroke education annually for employees working at QVH.
• Must be available to work every other weekend.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Newly graduated nurses, re-entry nurses, and nurses new to the U.S. healthcare system must satisfactorily complete the Emanate Health R.N. New Grad Program.

Nice To Haves

• One year of critical care experience is preferred.
