About The Position

The Staff RN is a professional caregiver responsible and accountable for a group of patients during an assigned time frame. The RN coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned unit, ensuring care is delivered efficiently and safely in accordance with the unit’s standard of care. The RN uses nursing skills to determine patients’ and families’ biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and educational needs, and develops, implements, and revises plans of care.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the State of California.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS required within 3 months of hire or transfer.
• Chemo Certification required within one year of hire or transfer.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Must be available to work every other weekend.
• Newly graduated nurses, re-entry nurses, and nurses new to the U.S. healthcare system must satisfactorily complete the Emanate Health R.N. New Grad Program.
• One hour of annual stroke education is required for those working at QVH.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate patient care for an assigned group of patients during the assigned time frame.
• Implement patient care appropriate to the age of the population served on the assigned unit.
• Ensure quality care is provided safely and efficiently in accordance with the unit’s standard of care.
• Assess patients’ and families’ biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and educational needs.
• Develop, implement, and revise plans of care.
