About The Position

The Quality Improvement Specialist oversees end-to-end product quality within warehouse and fulfillment operations, with responsibility for evaluating formulation and packaging standards, including OTC products. Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, the role serves as the quality representative on the fulfillment floor and drives quality assurance across the product lifecycle, from inbound receiving through final shipment.

Requirements

• At least 3 years in a quality role within manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, or consumer packaged goods.
• Expertise in QMS, GMP (cosmetic GMP / ISO 22716), ISO 9001, document control, CAPA, traceability, and recalls.
• Hands-on experience with inbound inspection, AQL sampling, defect classification, and supplier quality management.
• Training in lean manufacturing practices such as WCM, TPM, and Six Sigma, including focus improvements and root-cause investigations.
• Proficiency in WMS software such as SAP or HighJump.
• Experience developing internal audit plans and leading cross-functional audits and quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming shipments, maintain the product standard library, and prevent critical defects.
• Release, hold, or reject product lots and track supplier quality performance over time.
• Perform in-line inspections, document issues, escalate problems, and oversee product rework.
• Manage product holds, ensuring items are properly quarantined, labeled, and logged in WMS.
• Guide and support site QC Technicians with inspection standards and escalation decisions.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma methods to identify root causes, address quality gaps, and optimize warehouse processes.
• Develop internal audit plans and lead mock recalls under the Senior Quality Manager's direction.
• Partner with Product Development on package drop, shipping, and integrity testing for launch readiness.
• Monitor product shelf life and collaborate with Inventory Control on disposition and disposal.
• Track monthly floor quality metrics and report key non-conformances for site dashboards.
