About The Position

The Quality Improvement Specialist joins the Quality Assurance team and conducts research, analysis, audits, and investigations to help ensure agency programs meet regulatory and quality standards. The position reviews departments that provide services to individuals with psychiatric or developmental disabilities, assesses documentation and practices for compliance, and prepares findings that help identify areas for improvement. This full-time position is based in Brooklyn and requires travel to scattered sites within New York City and/or Nassau County, Long Island. A valid New York or New Jersey driver’s license and full use of a personal vehicle are required. Salary is commensurate with experience and proven skills, with a stated range of $45,000 to $65,000.

Requirements

Auditing, compliance, quality assurance, investigative, or related experience is preferred.
Strong research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A valid New York or New Jersey driver’s license and full use of a personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and/or Excel spreadsheets is strongly preferred.
Auditing, compliance, quality assurance, investigative, or related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Research and analyze government regulations, policies, and compliance requirements.
Conduct internal audits of agency departments that provide services to individuals with psychiatric or developmental disabilities.
Review documentation and practices to assess compliance with applicable regulations and agency standards.
Conduct investigations related to matters referred to the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
Prepare clear and thorough findings and assist with identifying areas for improvement.
