About The Position

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking an Intern for the Public Information Office – Creative Services Section. The Public Information Intern supports the Office of Public Information by assisting with website management, graphic design, and streamlining operations.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing.
  • Demonstrated skills in web design and proficiency in web development, including knowledge in programming languages used for website development.
  • Ability to apply basic design principles to create clear, visually coherent work.
  • Proficient in developing compelling public messaging.
  • Ability to perform all aspects of the job with professionalism, patience, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, think critically, and solve issues independently.
  • Employees may be regularly exposed to sensitive information, and the employee is expected to keep any such information strictly confidential.
  • Adhere to all Court policies, guidelines, practices, and procedures.
  • Act as a role model both inside and outside the Court.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others.
  • Work to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful approach with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Court.
  • Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management, prioritize workload, and perform duties in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.
  • Communicate regularly with the employees’ supervisors about work-related issues.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to schedule most on-site hours in Columbus between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm weekdays (scheduling is flexible within these hours).
  • The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably in front-end web design, UI/UX design, multimedia/graphic design, communications, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist web team with website updates using our Content Management System (CMS).
  • Support team to enhance the user experience on our website.
  • Assist the team with updating and remediating digital forms and supporting ADA‑compliant improvements across web and digital content to ensure accessibility for all users.
  • Support team with various design projects, including creating content for web, social media, and other digital communication materials.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures for responsibilities performed to help streamline operations and provide clear guidelines for future interns and team members.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and accurate messaging across all communication channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
