About The Position

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking an Intern in the Office of the Chief Legal Officer. The Intern will provide administrative support within the Office of the Chief Legal Officer by assisting with document preparation, records management, policy tracking, and collaborative legal initiatives while gaining exposure to public‑sector legal operations. Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Undergraduate students must be incoming sophomores or higher.
  • Ability to schedule most on-site hours in Columbus between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm weekdays (scheduling is flexible within these hours).
  • Must undergo a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general administrative tasks, including scheduling support, document organization, and maintaining internal files.
  • Help prepare, format, proofread, and organize memoranda, correspondence, policies, and internal guidance documents.
  • Assist with organizing electronic and physical legal files, including records related to contracts, policies, litigation holds, and public records matters.
  • Assist with tracking policy updates, administrative rules, and internal guidance materials.
  • Enter and maintain information in tracking logs, spreadsheets, or databases as directed.
  • Work with attorneys and staff across offices to support legal initiatives and requests.
  • Gain exposure to legal operations within a judicial or public‑sector environment.
