About The Position

The Public Area Attendant keeps all guest-facing and back-of-house spaces clean, safe, and welcoming. You’ll maintain lobbies, restrooms, hallways, elevators, fitness/pool areas, and meeting spaces; restock supplies; respond to guest requests; and support special events and deep-clean projects.

Requirements

  • Prior housekeeping/houseperson, janitorial, or custodial experience preferred (will train reliable candidates).
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with strong pace, attention to detail, and teamwork.
  • Basic English required; bilingual (e.g., Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work weekends/holidays; comfortable using radios/mobile apps.
  • Stand/walk for extended periods; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stair climbing.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (supply carts, equipment, trash).
  • Work indoors/outdoors and around cleaning chemicals (training/PPE provided).

  • Bilingual (e.g., Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep/mop/vacuum floors; dust/polish surfaces; clean glass, mirrors, metal, and fixtures; remove trash/recycling.
  • Sanitize and detail-clean restrooms; restock paper goods, soap, and supplies; monitor throughout shift.
  • Disinfect high-touch points (doors, rails, elevator buttons, counters) on established cadence.
  • Maintain lobbies, corridors, stairwells, elevators, fitness/pool decks, meeting rooms, and back-of-house corridors/storage.
  • Spot-clean carpets; operate auto-scrubbers/extractors and floor machines for periodic/deep cleans (as trained).
  • Set/reset meeting and public spaces (chairs, tables, linens/water stations) and assist with quick turnovers.
  • Greet guests warmly; handle amenity deliveries and special requests; escalate service recovery to leadership as needed.
  • Use chemicals/equipment safely; follow OSHA, SDS, PPE, and wet-floor signage procedures; uphold key control and privacy policies.
  • Report lights out, leaks, trip hazards, or damages via radio/CMMS; place areas out-of-service when necessary.
  • Maintain par levels of supplies; keep closets, carts, and loading areas neat and compliant with egress standards.
  • Complete daily checklists, cleaning logs, and handoff notes accurately and on time.
