About The Position

The Metropolitan at The 9 is seeking a Public Area Attendant to play a key role in creating a clean, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel's public spaces while ensuring a safe and inviting environment for guests and team members. Nice To Haves

• Previous housekeeping or custodial experience is helpful but not required—we're happy to train the right candidate.
• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or hospitality experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hotel lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other public areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors throughout the property.
• Clean and sanitize public restrooms, restock supplies, and ensure they remain guest-ready throughout the day.
• Dust furniture, countertops, artwork, fixtures, and décor.
• Clean windows and glass surfaces as needed.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
• Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning requests.
• Vacuum elevator tracks and maintain elevator cleanliness.
• Report maintenance concerns such as burned-out light bulbs, damaged furniture, or broken fixtures.
• Perform deep cleaning projects as assigned.
• Complete daily cleaning checklists before the end of each shift.
• Support the housekeeping team with additional duties as needed.
