About The Position
The PT Therapy Aide provides supportive services under the direct supervision of a licensed or registered therapist. Duties include patient-related and non-patient-related tasks, depending on the employee’s competency and completed training. Patient-related tasks may include transporting and preparing patients, assisting with patient care, and assisting with the application of modalities and procedures according to a physician’s prescription and as delegated by the primary therapist of the same discipline. Non-patient-related tasks include maintaining treatment areas, monitoring equipment and supplies, and performing clerical duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- No experience required.
- Minimum computer competency, including working knowledge of Windows or a comparable system and keyboard and mouse skills.
- As applicable to job duties, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation development, email, browsers, and online reporting.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross for Healthcare Providers, required upon hire. The certification needs to be the AHA Healthcare Provider type only.
Responsibilities
- Assist staff with treatment setup and cleanup under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist.
- Assist management and management support staff with coordination of patient care.
- Coordinate documentation and perform clerical duties.
- Prepare, maintain, and clean treatment areas; order and monitor equipment.
- Follow up with therapists and/or management on incomplete tasks, as appropriate.
- Prepare and transport patients as assigned.
- Assist with group treatment as assigned or requested.
- Perform scheduling and front office tasks.
- Perform other related duties, including orientation to new tasks or areas and special projects.
