About The Position

Harmony United Psychiatric Care is hiring a Psychotherapist Intern to provide outpatient mental health care in Brandon, Florida. The clinic offers in-person and virtual services, including evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy and counseling, and neuropsychological testing. The organization serves adults, adolescents, and children aged five and above through individualized, compassionate care. The intern will assess and diagnose patients with a range of mental health conditions, provide psychotherapy and counseling, collaborate with multidisciplinary providers, educate patients and families, and document services in accordance with company policies. The role is an independent contractor position with compensation of $35–$40 per billable hour. The contractor determines their working hours. Offices are open Monday through Thursday for in-person and telehealth appointments, with telemedicine availability Friday through Sunday. The position offers the option to work 50% via telemedicine from the start.

Requirements

Master’s degree in mental health counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy.
Active Florida intern license or be in the process of obtaining one.

Responsibilities

Provide psychological assessments, diagnoses, and therapeutic interventions for patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
Provide different modalities of psychotherapy and counseling services.

Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health conditions and therapeutic strategies.
Document services rendered in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Stay current with advancements in psychotherapy and counseling through continuing education and professional development.
