About The Position

Children’s Minnesota is recruiting for its 2027–2028 Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Pediatric and Outpatient Psychology. The Psychological Services department serves patients at the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses and provides individual and family therapy, psychological assessment, inpatient consultation and liaison, and psychology services embedded in specialty clinics. The department’s psychologists are faculty in the fellowship training program. There are three fellowship opportunities. The first focuses on outpatient therapy and assessment, with additional training in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) provided by a certified Within Agency Trainer. The other two opportunities involve pediatric psychology placements in one or two specialty areas—Diabetes, Feeding Disorders, Eating Disorders, Behavioral Sleep Medicine, Cancer and Blood Disorders, or Integrated Behavioral Health—and an outpatient therapy caseload based on specialty and consultation referrals. All fellows participate in inpatient consultation and liaison, monthly didactics, and case presentations throughout the year. The fellowships are based at both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. Opportunities to supervise or mentor practicum students are available. This is a clinical fellowship, with most time devoted to clinical services, including face-to-face care, charting, case management, care coordination, and observation of others’ clinical work. Remaining time is devoted to supervision, didactics, professional development, and related learning activities. Fellows work with medical providers, multidisciplinary teams, and families to develop skills in training, policy, and practice related to child and adolescent mental health services. The fellowship is scheduled to begin September 7, 2027, and end September 1, 2028. Applicants must have a conferred doctorate in Clinical, School, or Counseling Psychology from an APA-approved institution and have completed an APA-approved internship by the fellowship start date. A child emphasis is preferred. Applicants should be able to complete and document diagnostic assessments, have training in or experience with evidence-based treatments, complete documentation promptly, and be ready to engage in therapy independently. Applications require a CV, a letter of interest identifying preferred tracks and describing relevant training in pediatric specialties, and three reference letters, including one from someone at the applicant’s academic institution. Applications are rolling. The stated application due date is December 11, 2026; interview notifications are scheduled for December 21, 2026. Virtual interviews are planned for January 8 and January 12, 2027. Offers will be made after interviews and can be held until the APPIC common hold date listed in the posting as February 23, 2026. Job offers are contingent on successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with Form I-9 requirements.
