About The Position
MySpectrum Counseling & Coaching is seeking an independently licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join their growing outpatient mental health practice. This role will provide telehealth services to clients throughout Virginia, offering comprehensive psychiatric services including evaluations, treatment planning, medication management, and client progress monitoring. The position emphasizes autonomy, collaboration with therapists and other professionals, and the flexibility to create a personalized schedule while ensuring availability for time-sensitive requests.
Requirements
- Current Virginia PMHNP license with autonomous practice authority
- Current prescriptive authority through the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine
- Active DEA registration
- Experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions
- Strong clinical assessment and medication management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and telehealth technology
- Availability to respond to time-sensitive requests each business day throughout the week
Nice To Haves
- Experience in outpatient behavioral health settings
- Prior telehealth experience
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience serving children, adolescents, adults, or families
Responsibilities
- Conducting psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
- Developing individualized treatment plans
- Prescribing and managing psychiatric medications
- Monitoring client progress and psychiatric stability
- Providing medication management follow-up appointments
- Ordering and reviewing laboratory work when clinically appropriate
- Completing additional requirements related to laboratory requests, in collaboration with the administrative team
- Coordinating care with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Completing authorizations
- Maintaining accurate and timely electronic health records
- Educating clients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment recommendations
- Making referrals for higher levels of care or in-person services when needed
