The Pediatric Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides comprehensive, evidence-based behavioral health services in a collaborative, team-based model at Jane Pauley Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center serving individuals and families across Indiana. The position assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients with mental health concerns in a clinical environment, working with primary care providers, therapists, leadership, and care teams to support whole-person health and improve access to mental health services within the medical home. The role is based in a pediatric clinic serving children and adolescents, and providers may float between sites to cover for other providers when appropriate. The PMHNP conducts mental health evaluations, develops patient-centered treatment plans, manages psychopharmacologic treatment, and supports coordinated care through collaboration, brief therapeutic interventions, psychoeducation, and timely consultation. The role also contributes to wellness and prevention programs, quality improvement, data collection, and integrated care workflows, while documenting care in the shared electronic health record and maintaining knowledge of evidence-based practices and applicable healthcare regulations.
