Provider Payments Specialist
About The Position
Working under the Program Manager, the Provider Payments Specialist reviews and validates monthly attendance-sheet information to calculate provider reimbursement for all CalWORKs and Subsidy Programs in accordance with federal and state regulations. The role applies knowledge of laws and regulations related to child care provider reimbursement, verifies documentation for completeness and compliance with government regulations and Agency policy, and processes monthly attendance sheets accurately and within established timelines. The position is not eligible for fully remote work and requires at least 3–4 days in the office.
Requirements
- Two or more years of completed college coursework in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Proficiency with software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing.
- Ability to use 10-key by touch.
- Demonstrated analytical and general math abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and experience prioritizing tasks.
Nice To Haves
- College degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Experience in child care subsidy programs.
Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot issues to ensure provider reimbursements are completed and meet all timelines.
- Attend all department and agency-wide staff meetings and trainings.
