Proper Care Specialist Full-Time (Proper Brands) - South County
About The Position
Proper Brands is hiring a full-time Proper Care Specialist (Budtender/Cannabis Patient Care Specialist) at its South County location in Saint Louis, Missouri. The role pays $15 per hour and works approximately 40 hours per week. The schedule includes weekends and may include evening shifts during the week. The specialist helps customers have a positive and safe dispensary experience by learning about products and their medicinal qualities, understanding customers’ needs, and providing recommendations in compliance with state law. The position also supports dispensary operations through sales and payment processing, inventory and sales recordkeeping, maintaining customer confidentiality and store cleanliness, and collaborating with the team during busy periods. The work takes place in an environmentally controlled retail store and may require travel up to 10% of the time. Physical demands include reaching, bending, stooping, sitting, standing, and carrying or lifting up to 30 pounds. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in retail and guest services.
- Passion for cannabis.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-service-oriented and team-centered approach with a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to gain and maintain a thorough understanding of the medicinal implications and effects of Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid strains.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to obtain a Missouri Agent ID by the start date, which may require submitting fingerprints and passing a criminal background check.

Responsibilities
- Create a positive, memorable experience for every Proper Cannabis customer.
- Ensure the safety and satisfaction of every customer.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of dispensary products and their medicinal qualities.
- Ask customers about potential issues they may be experiencing.
- Educate customers about available products that may achieve their desired outcomes.
- Tailor product recommendations to customers’ needs in compliance with state law.
- Answer customer questions about dispensary products.
- Elicit feedback from returning customers to further customize recommendations.
- Serve as a brand ambassador.
- Back up team members as necessary.
- Maintain customer flow.
- Maintain customer confidentiality.
- Enter sales orders into the POS system.
- Maintain an accurate cash count in the assigned drawer.
- Process customer payments and dispense change.
- Update sales and inventory records accurately.
- Attend team meetings.
- Collaborate with dispensary staff during peak business volume, as directed.
- Perform assigned dispensary side jobs.
- Maintain dispensary cleanliness and follow hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain professional, positive, and effective working relationships.
