About The Position

Proper Brands is part of the Vireo family, a rapidly growing cannabis industry platform. The Lead Proper Care Specialist is a full-time retail role at the Proper Cannabis Festus - West location in Festus, Missouri. The position leads the Proper Care Specialist team in partnership with Assistant Managers and the General Manager, providing coaching and product and systems training, including support for new hires. The Lead Proper Care Specialist may perform store-opening duties, reports to the manager on duty and General Manager, and supports Proper Cannabis’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives. The role involves preparing the store for daily operations, reviewing the menu and orders, maintaining inventory availability, educating patients about cannabis products, verifying patient documentation, coordinating staff breaks, and maintaining a clean and customer-focused retail environment. The position offers approximately 40 hours per week, starting pay of $17 per hour plus pooled tips, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, a retirement savings plan, holiday pay, an employee assistance program, an employee discount program, and paid parental leave.

Requirements

Open availability and flexibility.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of retail and/or guest services experience.
At least 1 year of cannabis retail experience.
Passion for medical cannabis.
Must be at least 21 years old and able to obtain a Missouri Agent ID.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Customer service-oriented and team-centered, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, sit, stand, and carry and lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week, including weekends and possible evening shifts.

Familiarity with Missouri medical cannabis laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead the Proper Care Specialist team in partnership with the Assistant Managers and General Manager.
Coach team members and provide product and systems training, including for new hires.
Open the store and complete opening duties, including setting the floor, bringing out registers, and setting up fulfillment.
Review the menu and orders, update the menu, and enter discounts as needed.
Move product from the vault into fulfillment to maintain an accurate representation of available inventory.
Educate patients about flower, edibles, and concentrates based on their needs.
Stay current on new strains, products, law changes, and industry trends.
Verify patient paperwork, documentation, and identification.
Complete the store flow chart and oversee breaks and lunches.
Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well presented, and promote a customer service-focused work environment.
Comply with state, local, and company policies.
Perform other duties assigned by the manager on duty or General Manager.
