About The Position

The Propane Filler safely and accurately fills propane tanks in accordance with DOT and company safety standards. The role includes inspecting cylinders, operating filling equipment, verifying fill levels, testing for leaks, and loading and unloading tanks. The position requires outdoor work in varying weather conditions and the ability to lift and move heavy tanks weighing 75 pounds or more.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and move heavy propane tanks weighing 75 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in manufacturing, filling, or loading is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Examine empty propane cylinders for defects, damage, or leaks before filling.
• Operate equipment to fill cylinders to the specified pressure or weight and ensure they are not overfilled.
• Use a chemical solution to test cylinder valves for leaks after filling.
• Operate filling equipment, including using a wrench for valve adjustment and a torque wrench.
• Load and unload filled and empty cylinders from trucks or racks, manually or with equipment such as a hoist or forklift.
• Complete and attach tags showing details such as cylinder number, tare and gross weight, type of gas, and fill date.
