About The Position

The Cylinder Loader loads and unloads high-pressure and liquid cylinders on and off trucks in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and Keen procedures. The role involves inspecting cylinders, handling and identifying cylinder gases, operating warehouse equipment, recording cylinder information, and maintaining safe handling practices. The work may take place outdoors in various weather conditions and requires the ability to lift and move cylinders weighing 75 pounds or more. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Physical ability to lift and move heavy cylinders weighing 75 pounds or more.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in manufacturing, filling, or loading is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

Inspect cylinders before filling according to government, Keen, and distributor procedures.
Understand the hazards of various gases and identify cylinder sizes and contents by interpreting labels and tank color-coding.
Follow government and company standards for the safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases.
Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
Load and unload cylinders on and off vehicles using a hand truck or chain hoist, and record cylinder types and quantities.
Load and unload cylinders on and off pallets and ensure they are strapped in.
Inspect returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, and burns; perform minor equipment maintenance and inspect cylinders before filling.
Move cylinders to designated work areas using safe methods or appropriate equipment.
Separate cylinders that are out of test and any defective cylinders.
Remove old labels and clean cylinders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
