About The Position

Lakes Gas is hiring a local-route Propane Delivery Driver. The position involves delivering propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first-class customer service. Drivers are home every night. The work also includes maintaining company and customer equipment and performing plant maintenance activities. The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and complying with applicable Department of Transportation requirements. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered: $1,000 after three months of employment and achieving at least a Class B license with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements, followed by another $2,000 after successfully completing six months of employment. The employee must be employed and in good standing at the time of each payout.

Requirements

Valid Class A or Class B commercial driver's license with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain the required endorsements; no air-brake restrictions.
Clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card.
Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
Ability to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Safety-conscious, customer-service-oriented approach.
Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets.

Responsibilities

Deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
Provide first-class customer service.
Maintain and upkeep company and customer equipment.
Perform plant maintenance activities.
Inspect the vehicle and notify a supervisor about needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
Fill, load, secure, and deliver propane cylinders or bulk propane.
Maintain compliance with DOT requirements, including DOT hazardous materials training and maintenance every three years.
