About The Position

The Project Development Manager will be responsible for the development of solar PV and battery storage projects in Germany, from securing land to Ready-to-Build (RTB) maturity. This includes managing approval processes and communicating with grid operators. The role involves coordinating internal and external stakeholders, optimizing project processes, and ensuring efficient collaboration and transparent documentation. The Project Development Manager will oversee the operational management of solar PV and battery storage projects in Germany, ensuring their successful development from initiation to construction readiness, including responsibility for budgets, timelines, and project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Business Administration, Geography, Management, Project Management, Renewable Energies, or a comparable field of study
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the development of renewable energy projects in Germany, with demonstrable experience in large-scale project development
  • Experience in securing land and grid capacities, as well as sound knowledge of land-use planning and project approval processes
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel within Germany
  • Native or business-fluent German language skills (written and spoken)
  • Good English skills are an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Steering the development of solar PV and battery storage projects in Germany
  • Overall responsibility for the development of German projects up to the Ready-to-Build (RTB) phase
  • Managing approval processes (solar, BESS, and grid connection) and securing grid capacities, including coordination of grid connection solutions
  • Overall responsibility for development budgets, timelines, and project results
  • Coordinating collaboration between the local development team, regional management in Germany, and other internal stakeholders
  • Building and maintaining relationships with landowners, approval authorities, grid operators, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Identifying relevant stakeholders and involving them in the design and further development of processes
  • Coordinating and aligning planned process improvements and adjustments with the Team Lead
  • Managing and maintaining relationships with landowners, municipalities, authorities, internal teams, external partners, and grid operators
