About The Position

The Project Coordinator will exercise discretion and judgment, applying project management principles to meet project challenges. This role involves attending client meetings, assisting with project requirements determination, and supporting the Project Manager (PM) in drafting proposals and schedules. The coordinator will keep management informed of project status and issues, prepare project organization charts, and track the progress and quality of work performed by various disciplines and trades. They will utilize project scheduling tools to monitor plans, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, and effectively communicate project information to clients and the project team. Responsibilities also include reviewing field inspection reports, evaluating change orders, monitoring subcontractor progress and invoices, and identifying staffing needs with the PM. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of project planning methodologies such as critical path planning.
  • The ability to accurately review and complete detail-oriented information and projects.
  • The ability to conceptualize and organize the project planning process.
  • Advanced knowledge in the field of energy infrastructure.
  • The ability to take responsibility and function under minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to conduct and participate in meetings with senior management.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
  • Goal and action oriented; takes project setbacks in stride, and acts on opportunities as they present themselves to add value to the project and the client.
  • Must have excellent computer/internet skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with courses or educational credits in industry specific curriculum.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting Project Managers in the delivery of development projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Project a plus.
  • CAPM certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager (PM) in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, request for proposals, and preliminary schedules.
  • Keep the PM and management informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
  • Prepare project organization and communication charts.
  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines and trades.
  • Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team.
  • Review field inspection reports from Consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Review and evaluate the merit of change orders for all projects and discuss them with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor subcontractor progress including invoices.
  • Work with the PM to identify staffing needs for projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
