About The Position

SFI is hiring a junior Project Accountant/Analyst to handle monthly billing and project financial analysis. The position reports to the Sr. VP of Finance and is hybrid in Bethesda, Maryland, with on-site work required three days a week.

The Project Accountant/Analyst interfaces with management to create forecasts, track actuals, and report program financial status. Working closely with Project Managers, the role develops Task Order baselines, Estimates-to-Complete, Estimates-at-Completion, monthly financial status reports, trend analyses, and required corrective action plans.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens and will be subject to a complete background check. Public Trust background investigations may take approximately four to eight weeks and require fingerprinting. This is a full-time W-2 position. The stated annual salary is $50,000–$62,000.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Experience with advanced Excel features and pivot tables.
• Self-motivated and able to work cross-functionally with little supervision.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Well-organized and detail-oriented.
• Strong work ethic, analytical skills, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in job costing, billing, expenses, and revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Develop forecast files for assigned contracts.
• Create timely and accurate monthly invoices.
• Track funding and period-of-performance data.
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices.
• Work with Accounting, PMO, and Contract organizations to assess program profitability and financial impacts.
• Interface with management to create forecasts, track actuals, and report program financial status.
• Work with Project Managers to develop Task Order baselines, Estimates-to-Complete, Estimates-at-Completion, monthly financial status reports, trend analysis, and required corrective action plans.
