About The Position

The UNT ELEVAR Prog Proj Coord plays a central role in advancing student success, with a focus on academic progress, career dev, campus engagement, and continuous program improvement. They support students w/intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as they navigate academic expectations, build career readiness skills, and participate in the UNT community. They work closely with faculty, campus partners, families, and community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use a variety of complex computer applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of populations both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work independently and lead project teams effectively
  • Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate)

Responsibilities

  • Program Planning: Closely collaborate with the Program Director, Faculty leads, and other UNT ELEVAR staff on recruitment efforts including applications, interviews, and orientation procedures
  • Student Academic Success: Provide individualized academic support to ELEVAR students, including study strategies, time management, and self-advocacy skill development. Collaborate with faculty to ensure instructional practices and appropriate academic accommodations.
  • Faculty & Campus Partner Support: Serve as a resource for faculty teaching ELEVAR students, offering guidance on practices and student support needs. Facilitate communication between academic units and the ELEVAR program to ensure alignment of expectations and supports.
  • Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement: Collect, analyze, and report data related to student outcomes, employment progress, and program effectiveness.
  • Community Engagement: Act as a community organizer to promote belonging, and engagement for ELEVAR students. Represent the ELEVAR program at community events, employer meetings, and outreach activities.
  • Staff: Supervise hourly student success coaches as they support ELEVAR students in study hall (tutoring).
