Program Manager – DOE National Laboratory Capital Building Programs

AECOM•New York, NY
•$250,000 - $300,000•Hybrid

About The Position

AECOM seeks an experienced Program Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex engineering, design, and infrastructure projects for U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratories and specialized nuclear research facilities. The role provides overall program leadership, technical oversight, client relationship management, and contractual and financial accountability for projects supporting nuclear research, fusion energy, and specialized laboratory facilities. The position leads capital building programs through planning, design, construction, commissioning, and turnover. It requires direct responsibility for delivering building and infrastructure capital projects through multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and construction teams, rather than solely managing scientific research, equipment development, or laboratory operations. The work integrates engineering excellence, nuclear safety, operational continuity, and innovative project delivery to advance national research missions. The Program Manager serves as AECOM’s primary program leadership contact for DOE national laboratory clients and stakeholders, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and contractual performance. The position also supports laboratory modernization, infrastructure renewal, operational readiness, long-term capital planning, business development, and program growth. Periodic travel to DOE facilities is expected, including extended periods as needed to support program execution. The work location model is hybrid, with the primary location listed as New York, NY.

  • Demonstrated leadership of capital building programs, including planning, design, construction, and modernization of complex research and laboratory facilities.
  • Direct responsibility for delivering building and infrastructure capital projects through multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and construction teams.
