Program Manager - Field CTOs - US

Cognition•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Cognition is hiring a Program Manager to coordinate how executives, Field CTOs, and Managing Directors participate in its global executive programs. The role develops engagement plans for each leader based on their expertise, priority audiences and relationships, key forums, and available time, then coordinates participation across summits, customer advisory boards, executive sponsorships, briefings, dinners, and major industry gatherings. The Program Manager partners closely with Sales to understand account priorities and evaluate where executive involvement will be most valuable. The role balances requests against program goals and executive capacity, communicates tradeoffs, and constructively pushes back when appropriate. Within Executive Engagement, the position works with program owners, executive assistants, regional marketing, Events, and Communications to bring structure and continuity to the portfolio and ensure customer interactions build on one another.

Requirements

  • Experience managing executive programs, executive briefings, customer advisory boards, or similar programs in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Sales, understand account priorities, and translate requests into well-defined executive engagements.
  • Strong prioritization skills, including the ability to assess competing needs, distinguish urgency from strategic importance, and explain recommendations.
  • Confidence asking sales leaders and account teams for context, challenging assumptions, and pushing back constructively.
  • Experience working with senior executives and their assistants, with sound judgment about the use of limited executive time.
  • Clear, concise writing and experience preparing executive briefing materials.
  • Strong organizational skills, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build practical processes and personally manage the details required to make them work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain proactive executive engagement plans based on each leader’s priorities, expertise, relationships, and capacity.
  • Partner with sales leaders and account teams to understand customer priorities, important senior relationships, and the potential value of proposed engagements.
  • Create and manage an intake process that captures the audience, purpose, relationship context, timing, and expected value of each request.
  • Assess requests against agreed priorities, executive fit, and capacity; recommend whether to accept, defer, redirect, or decline requests and offer alternatives where appropriate.
  • Route assignment decisions and escalations to the appropriate owner.
  • Coordinate the global calendar, aligning executive hosts, audiences, preparation deadlines, and commitments across programs, and identify conflicts and gaps early.
  • Maintain shared records of participation, feedback, and commitments, ensuring follow-up has a named owner and continues between programs.
  • Run planning meetings, surface decisions, and report on participation, capacity, and program feedback.
  • Prepare executive briefing materials and coordinate executive participation in global programs and customer engagements.
