About The Position

Symbotic is seeking a Program Manager, Vision and Robotics to own program execution across a portfolio of vision and robotics initiatives within its Cell Engineering organization. The role brings structure and visibility to priorities, schedules, releases, risks, and cross-functional dependencies so engineering leaders can focus on technical delivery. The Vision and Robotics team develops technologies that enable robotic cells to perceive, interact with, and manipulate their physical environment. Its work spans computer vision, perception, robotics, and software, in partnership with controls, cell hardware, and other engineering organizations. Programs include new product development, continuous improvement of deployed systems, integration and validation, and coordination of new features into customer environments. The Program Manager owns planning and execution across initiatives, maintains integrated roadmaps, identifies and resolves delivery risks, manages engineering execution through Jira, and partners with engineering managers and product stakeholders on priorities and trade-offs. The role coordinates integration, validation, and release readiness across labs, test environments, and customer sites, and connects Engineering with Customer Success, program teams, and other stakeholders through deployment. Up to 20% travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Robotics, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional technical programs involving robotics, industrial automation, computer vision, perception, sensing, mechatronics, or similarly integrated systems.
  • Strong understanding of hardware, software, controls, systems integration, and product-development processes, with experience in NPD and/or NPI environments.
  • Ability to develop integrated schedules, manage cross-team dependencies, assess risk and capacity, and drive scope and priority decisions across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Jira and experience using program plans, dashboards, and metrics to provide visibility into delivery health.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; ability to work autonomously, challenge priorities constructively, and drive alignment across engineers, engineering leaders, executives, customers, and external partners.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • Build and maintain an integrated roadmap across vision, perception, robotics, software, controls, and cell hardware workstreams.
  • Identify delivery risks, capacity constraints, and gaps, and drive decisions and escalation before they affect engineering or customer commitments.
  • Manage engineering execution through Jira, including backlogs, releases, dependencies, issue tracking, and program-health metrics; continuously improve work-management processes.
  • Partner with engineering managers and product stakeholders on prioritization, resource needs, change control, and schedule trade-offs, providing visibility to leadership.
  • Coordinate integration, validation, and release readiness across development labs, testing environments, and customer sites, including demonstrations, acceptance activities, and deployment milestones.
  • Coordinate new capabilities and continuous-improvement work across Engineering, Customer Success, program teams, and other stakeholders from development through deployment.
