About The Position

Universal Health Services (UHS), a Fortune 500 company and a leading provider of hospital and healthcare services, is seeking a dynamic Program Manager - Revenue Cycle - Patient Access for its Corporate Revenue Cycle Department. This role involves assessing and enhancing current revenue cycle processes, collaborating with various teams to streamline operations, reduce denials, and optimize cash flow. The Program Manager will analyze revenue cycle metrics, act as a subject matter expert in Revenue Cycle operations, and ensure maximization of net revenue realization and stable cash collections. Specifically, the Patient Access Program Manager will focus on optimizing front-end revenue cycle performance, enhancing efficiency and the patient experience through analytical skills and leadership, overseeing projects, implementing best practices, educating users, and recommending improvements to eliminate registration errors. This role also serves as a liaison to Central Business Offices and facilities to support continuous process improvement and compliant revenue maximization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, health information management, or similar.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a patient accounting system.
  • Coordinating diverse stakeholders.
  • Improving Revenue Cycle operations.
  • Utilizing pattern analytics and industry best practices to enhance systems and operations.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing admitting and patient access operations in an acute care setting, specifically an inpatient hospital.
  • A relevant certification (e.g., CHAM, CRCR).
  • Significant Revenue Cycle experience (i.e., 5+ years in addition to the minimum) might be accepted in lieu of certain college education requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and analyzes Patient Access processes and KPI performance, and works with the facilities for continued improvement using action plans, training, and site visits as necessary.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert for patient access systems and technology, leads and participates in new technology implementation projects.
  • Leads testing and implementations efforts for new system features in an operational capacity, both virtual and onsite, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows.
  • Develops and implements quality assurance measures to improve service levels, minimize errors, and ensure consistency across patient access teams.
  • Assists in development of policies and procedures.
  • Documents and designs all operational needs with patient access systems using UHS policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned/required.
