We are looking for a Program Manager to support the Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) mission within the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) by leading initiatives that reduce cancer burden and improve outcomes across the catchment area. You will manage COE-related research activities, oversee evidence-based interventions and dissemination efforts, and drive the development and operations of the Community Advisory Board (CAB). You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to strengthen community partnerships, support clinical trial recruitment, and ensure community perspectives inform research and care priorities. Serving as a key liaison and representative of COE, you will collaborate with cancer center faculty, research teams, community organizations, and policymakers to facilitate bidirectional communication and advance community-engaged research. The role requires strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills to manage complex projects, meet tight deadlines, and drive strategic initiatives. A self-starter and change agent, you will bring innovation, collaboration, and relationship-building expertise to enhance program impact and advance equitable cancer outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, Social Sciences or related field; 3 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education.
5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare environment, the conduct of health science research or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with underserved communities in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Experience delivering community health education or coordinating health programs with a strong understanding of social determinants of health principles.
Bilingual proficiency in languages commonly spoken in Greater Los Angeles Area.
Experience in community-engaged research, outreach, navigation, and cancer-related program implementation.
Develop culturally tailored health education materials, curricula, and resources to support diverse population needs.
Apply knowledge of NCI COE priorities, cancer screening guidelines, population health principles, and federal grant processes to support program success.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate COE initiatives supporting CCSG requirements, including grant preparation, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with leadership and stakeholders.
Build and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, facilitating bidirectional communication to align research, outreach, and cancer disparity priorities.
Analyze and track community health data, program outcomes, and cancer disparities to inform strategy, measure impact, and support continuous improvement.
Design and implement evidence-based interventions (EBIs) and support community-engaged research, including recruitment, data collection, and program dissemination.
Manage and activate the Community Advisory Board (CAB), driving member engagement, onboarding, and integration of community insights into program and research priorities.
Develop reports, grant content, presentations, and communications to share program impact with leadership, stakeholders, and the community.
Represent COE at events, coalitions, and meetings while advancing innovative strategies to enhance community outreach and program effectiveness.
Support capacity-building efforts for community partners through training, technical assistance, and resource development to strengthen long-term impact.
