Program Leaders work with an assigned group of students in an in-person setting at school and district sites throughout California. The student-to-staff ratio is contingent upon CDC guidelines. They serve as positive adult role models, coaches, and mentors, supporting students’ growth and development and providing a safe, nurturing environment. The role requires leadership, communication, patience, flexibility, and commitment to help students succeed. Program Leaders provide homework assistance, academic enrichment, and physical activity using program-provided curriculum and materials. They work directly with 20–25 students in a classroom setting, manage behavior, assist with snack preparation and site upkeep, and help maintain student safety.
