Program Leaders work with an assigned group of students in an in-person setting at districts and school sites throughout California. They serve as positive adult role models, coaches, and mentors, and help provide students with a safe, nurturing, and stable environment. The role requires leadership, communication, patience, flexibility, and commitment to supporting students’ growth and development. The student-to-staff ratio is contingent on CDC guidelines. Program Leaders provide homework assistance, academic enrichment, and physical activity using program-provided curriculum and materials. They work directly with groups of 20–25 students in a classroom setting, support behavior management, assist with snack preparation and site upkeep, and help maintain student safety. This is a part-time, in-person position paying $20 per hour.
