About The Position

Pilot Company is seeking a Program Intern for their PDI Pricing team in Knoxville, TN, for the summer of 2027. This role offers hands-on experience in solving real business challenges within one of North America's largest fuel networks. The intern will work alongside teams responsible for wholesale operations, process improvement, and digital transformation initiatives, gaining exposure to fuel pricing, commodity markets, retail and wholesale commercial strategies, and the systems that support pricing decisions. The position involves analyzing end-to-end business processes to identify operational risks, improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions for better execution and scalability.

Requirements

  • A student pursuing a degree with coursework in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics or a related area of study.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with data visualization is essential.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple business functions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to identify opportunities for improvement and drive results.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or interest in Energy is a bonus.
  • Experience in Tableau, Celonis, or PDI is nice to have.

Responsibilities

  • Support Commercial Fuel Operations by helping execute fuel pricing strategies, resolving operational issues, and ensuring accurate transactions.
  • Drive Process & System Automation by identifying automation opportunities, improving business processes, and helping teams leverage technology.
  • Streamline Business Processes by identifying inefficiencies and partnering with wholesale groups to implement streamlined ways of working.
  • Deliver Data-Driven Process Insights by evaluating workflow performance, uncovering bottlenecks, and proposing actionable improvements using Celonis process mining and analytics.
