Program Intern, Cloud Operations
About The Position
Pilot Company is seeking a Cloud Operations Intern to join their team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting cloud infrastructure and application migration efforts within an enterprise-scale environment. The intern will be an integral part of the Cloud Operations team, supporting the maintenance, optimization, and expansion of the AWS cloud platform and contributing to cloud migration initiatives. This role provides exposure to cloud operations, infrastructure automation, and application support, helping teams adopt cloud-based solutions. The internship emphasizes strengthening technical skills and growing within a collaborative team that values innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience with Python is required.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple teams.
- Energetic, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

- Exposure to Terraform, Git repositories, AWS cloud technologies, and Linux operating systems is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support cloud migration initiatives by assisting with migrating applications and infrastructure from on-premises data centers into AWS.
- Contribute to the ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of Pilot's AWS environment and the applications hosted within it.
- Write and maintain code using Python and Terraform to support infrastructure automation, platform enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
- Monitor ServiceNow tickets, troubleshoot issues, participate in break-fix activities, and help resolve cloud-related incidents.
- Partner with application teams across the organization, including Energy, Retail, and Supply Chain, to help onboard applications to the cloud and implement platform guardrails and best practices.
