Boston Kids Program and Coaching Internship
About The Position
Volo City Kids provides free organized sports for children in several major cities, aiming to remove barriers to athletic participation and bring communities together. They recruit young professionals to volunteer as coaches and positive role models. This internship offers hands-on experience in day-to-day program operations, social media, customer service, data management, coaching, partner relations, development, and fundraising. Training will cover equipment ordering, storage management, sales, operations, and finance. Previous interns have secured positions in various reputable organizations and some have transitioned to full-time roles within Volo. This is an unpaid internship, with the opportunity to earn money through coaching.
Requirements
- Works well in a team atmosphere, requires minimal supervision and direction
- Self-reliant and eager to take on any task
- Currently enrolled in college or recently graduated
- Punctual and professional
- Pass background check

Responsibilities
- Inventory, upkeep, and transportation of sports equipment and shirts
- Responsible for league preparation and day-of logistics
- Report any player, parent, referee, or coach issues
- Provide guidance to volunteers regarding drills/roles
- In charge of weekly communication to parents and volunteers
- Provide administrative and clerical support for all departments
- Make sales calls to team captains to inform them of upcoming events and registration deadlines
- Assist with game reports, customer service inquiries, scheduling, and data entry
- Assist with league audits and evaluations
