About The Position

The Dr. Robert A. Savoie College of Engineering seeks to hire a Professor of Professional Practice in Engineering Management for the Fall 2026 academic year. This full-time position will teach a regular (4/4) course load of four courses in both the Fall and Spring term. The successful candidate may also teach courses in other engineering disciplines based on the needs of the college. In addition to instruction, the position will create and submit assessment reports and other timely administrative tasks needed for SACS accreditation; work collaboratively with LSU Online on program and course development; and support the continued development of the engineering management program.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in engineering management or a related field.
  • Credentials to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in at least one of the other engineering disciplines.
  • Effective communication, organization, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, collect information, analyze data, define challenges, set priorities, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in higher education.
  • Teaching experience in remote modality, including preparation of course content for asynchronous instructional delivery.
