About The Position
SCLHSA is seeking a compassionate and experienced Professional Counselor to provide advanced professional behavioral health services within its community programs. The role offers the opportunity to support the agency’s mission of improving lives across South Central Louisiana through education, prevention, intervention, and treatment. The position is located at SCLHSA’s Lafourche Behavioral Health Center in Raceland, Louisiana. It is a probationary appointment in a Career Progression Group and may be filled at the Professional Counselor 1, 2, 3, or 4 level, depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications. The position provides opportunities to advance within the job series. Starting salary depends on the selected applicant’s education and experience.
Requirements
- Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT).
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical services through individual, family, and/or group counseling to a complex caseload of behavioral health clients.
- Prepare person-centered plans for clients based on recommended levels of care.
- Provide written and verbal consultation to other agencies.
- Assist the clinic manager in designing and implementing programs that address community needs.
