About The Position
SCLHSA is seeking a compassionate and experienced Professional Counselor to provide advanced professional behavioral health services within community programs in South Central Louisiana. This leadership-level role supports the agency’s mission of improving quality of life through education, prevention, intervention, and treatment. The position is based at SCLHSA’s River Parishes Behavioral Health Center in Laplace, Louisiana, and is a probationary appointment. It participates in a Career Progression Group and may be filled at the Professional Counselor 1, 2, 3, or 4 level depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, with opportunities to advance within the job series. Starting salary depends on the selected applicant’s education and experience.
Requirements
- Possess a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT).
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical services through individual, family, and/or group counseling to a complex caseload of behavioral health clients.
- Prepare person-centered plans for clients based on recommended levels of care.
- Provide written and verbal consultation to other agencies.
- Assist the clinic manager in designing and implementing programs that address community needs.
